Wyong Race Club has confirmed the creation of a new $50,000 feature race to be run at the Club's Wednesday 13 December meeting. The new race will be known as the Hudson Homes Wyong Town Plate and will be a Class 4 1350m event. Wyong Race Club Chairman, Garry Whitaker, said that the Club recognised that there is a demand for some better grade races at the Provincial meetings and see this new event as an opportunity to increase minimum prizemoney and develop a feature type race on this day. “We are delighted to welcome Hudson Homes and the naming sponsor of our new race. Hudson Homes is a new sponsor for the Club and they will be hosting a large function in our new Parade Ring marquee on their day, so it great to have them on board,” Mr Whitaker said. Wyong has sold out all their hospitality package options for their big Magic Millions meeting on Thursday 21 December, with over 600 bookings confirmed in the Club’s permanent marquee and hospitality areas in the Main stand, plus there will be another five private marquees with a further 240 people already sold on this day. WRC's CEO, David Jewell, said that with Hudson Homes confirmed, the Club’s impressive new air-conditioned permanent marquee, which can accommodate 300 people, is now fully booked on 13 December and bookings for the Club’s top floor Murray Doyle function are close to being sold out as well. “We have been marketing our two December midweek race meetings around a local Christmas at the Races campaign and we have been delighted with the strong level of enquiry for our events,” Mr Jewell said. Wyong Race Club has also secured two Saturday race dates in the New Year and will host a Summer Festival meeting on Saturday 6 January and the first of the 2018 Provincial Championship Series on Saturday 3 March, where bookings for hospitality packages are expected to again prove to be in great demand given the Club has not had very few Saturday racing opportunities in the past.
