Mighty mare Winx took in Day One of The Championships, stretching out in an exhibition gallop at Randwick.
The gallop gave a preview to punters of what is in store for next Saturday when she lines up in the $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes chasing 17 straight victories. Winx clocked 36.17s for her final 600m and did it easily.

“Perfect really. She is exactly where we need her to be. Her form speaks for itself in terms of going three weeks into the Queen Elizabeth,” reported Chris Waller.
“She wasn’t out there to set track records today, just go through the motions, stretch her legs and have a happy day out.
“It takes the nerves away and helps her settle down.”
As far as the preparation has gone Waller “wouldn’t change a thing.”
