Australia’s latest sporting legend – the world’s best horse Winx – will make a special guest appearance at Royal Randwick this Saturday as tickets for her final ever start were today heading towards a sell-out.
Fans who don’t have a ticket for Winx’s final run on The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on 13 April will have a last ever chance to witness Winx live when she runs in a special exhibition gallop this Saturday.
Winx will gallop on the course proper at 11.50am this Saturday, about 20 minutes before the first race on The Championships Day 1, over 1000m and be ridden by her champion jockey Hugh Bowman.
As at Wednesday afternoon, Australian Turf Club had less than 2,000 general admission tickets left for Winx’s final race in the Group 1 $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Saturday 13 April.
Australian Turf Club Chief Executive Jamie Barkley said fans shouldn’t miss the chance to be trackside this Saturday at Royal Randwick on 6 April.
“This Saturday not only has four Group 1 races during the great Sydney tradition of The Star Doncaster Mile and Harrolds Australian Derby, but an added star attraction in Winx,” Mr Barkley said.
“Winx is a once in a lifetime champion and Sydney is getting one of its last chances to see her live in action this Saturday.
“We thank trainer Chris Waller for this opportunity and urge everyone to arrive early this Saturday to see Winx.
“We are starting to prepare to announce a sell out on Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes as early as next week, so fans need to lock general admission tickets in now for that day and also this Saturday.”
There are still a limited amount of tickets for corporate hospitality in the Oaks Lawn Marquee left on sale for this Saturday, while all corporate hospitality for Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes has been sold out for several weeks.
Final tickets for each day are available at theraces.com.au.
