At Royal Randwick
She wasn't even racing but was still the star of the show.
Champion mare Winx was glowing in the coat as she strutted her stuff at Royal Randwick in a 1000m jumpout.
“It’s the first thing I thought when I got on her,” said Hugh Bowman, “She has certainly come on since her first up run and looking forward to two weeks’ time.”
Winx trailed her stablemates Foxplay, Patrick Erin and The Autumn Sun before Bowman clicked her up at the finish to run past the trio.

“Believe it or not, because I held her up and didn’t let her work into it like I would in a race she just didn’t go through her gears as well but you could see the last 50 metres she was using herself superbly and really stretching towards the winning post.”
Punters Intel captured the sectionals for the jumpout and clocked Winx’s last 600m at 33.17s and her last 200m in lightning 10.52s.
Winx will of course next be seen in the Group One Colgate Optic White Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on September 15. Chris Waller also confirmed the spring plans for The Autumn Sun who will run in next Saturday's Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) first up leaving Lean Mean Machine, Zousain and Performer to represent the stable in the Run To The Rose (1200m).
The Autumn Sun after his gallop
“We could have gone to the Run To The Rose but we’ve opted to go to that race because he gets a Group One penalty and although he has won over 1200m in quick time, I didn’t really want to see him vulnerable at the trip,” Waller said.
“He is fit enough to go to 1500m and today will top him off nicely. He’ll still run in the Golden Rose, that’s still the plan, but I’d like to see him pretty dominant to suggest he should be coming back to 1400m.”
Last year's Golden Rose winner Trapeze Artist ran fourth in the Stan Fox before winning the 1400m Group One in dominant fashion.
D’argento, meanwhile, is “spot on” ahead of next week’s Theo Marks Stakes with Waller opting to let the grey work by himself to ensure he didn’t overdo it. He wants the four-year-old nice and sharp given he is tackling 1300m second up.
Viridine also stretched out stylishly in his 800m solo gallop, impressing jockey Tye Angland, while Siege Of Quebec got the better of Santos with the pair clocking a slick 32.55s for their last 600m.
