Winx will meet Chautauqua in the $1m China Horse Club George Ryder (1500m) on Saturday at Rosehill with both accepting for the race.
Winx, now rated the best horse in the world, alongside Arrogate (USA), is chasing 16 straight wins. Meanwhile, Chautauqua is currently the world's highest rated sprinter.
It's a huge day of racing at Rosehill with five Group Ones, including the $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper.
Hartnell, currently rated the world's third best horse via Longines rankings, will start a warm favourite in the Ranvet Stakes over 2000m.
"He has come through the run very well and has a spring back in his step," Godolphin assistant trainer Darren Beadman said of Hartnell.
"Getting away from Winx is going to help and he loves Rosehill."
