Winx is on track to start the shortest price of her career to date when she makes her long awaited return at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
The champion, chasing her third successive Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m), 16th Group 1 win and 23rd straight victory, was installed $1.08 favourite by TAB on Monday.
So far, her shortest price has been $1.08 in both the 2017 Chelmsford and 2016 George Main Stakes.
“It’s always a special day when she races and Saturday will be no different,” TAB’s Glenn Munsie said.
“Ever since she trialled at Randwick on February 17 this race has been her comeback one and although it’s over 1600 metres, which is a new challenge for her, it would be a very brave person to suggest she can’t win.”

Winx captured worldwide attention when she starred on Apollo Stakes Day in a 1200m barrier trial where jockey Hugh Bowman and trainer Chris Waller were fitted with communication devices to give punters insight into her gallop.
It was her third trial this preparation, due to suspension preventing Bowman riding in her orginially scheduled return, and Punters Intel captured her running a slick 33.50 for her last 600m (including a 10.95 from the 400m-200m).
There are 13 nominations for the Chipping Norton and Winx’s stablemates Comin’ Through, Endless Drama, who won the Apollo, as well as Prized Icon share the second line of betting at $15.
It will be the 23rd occasion that Winx has started odds-on in her career and she’s only been beaten once when in the red – the 2014 Tea Rose Stakes when runner-up to First Seal.
Come Saturday’s race it will be 1036 days since Gust Of Wind downed Winx in the Group 1 ATC Oaks.
