Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of former trainer and long serving Randwick equine pool supervisor Richard Kimpton, aged 70.
Mr Kimpton passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve.
He worked for a number of Randwick trainers over the years including the legendary TJ Smith, Grahame Begg and Robert Pearse, and for the past 20 years has been managing the equine pool.
In the late 1970s he returned home to Quirindi and took out a trainer’s license. He was also a well respected Clerk Of The Course at Randwick and a highly valued member of the Australian Turf Club team.
Away from his lifelong service to racing, he had a passion for golf and rugby league and was an ardent supporter of the Manly Sea Eagles.
