Vale Mr Lewis Seib (Funeral Details/Benefit Night)

The Board and Staff of Muswellbrook Race Club send sincere condolences to the family and friends of trainer Lewis Seib (60yo) who passed away on Saturday 3 June after a short battle with brain cancer.

“Lewis was a true gentleman of the racing industry and one of the most well liked trainers in this area," said MRC's General Manager, Duane Dowell.

“His quiet and gentle nature will be sorely missed here at Skellatar Park.

"Flags will fly at half-mast at Friday’s race meeting at Muswellbrook with a race scheduled to honour Lewis at the club’s Queen of the Valley Matchmaker race day on Sunday 18th June.”

Lewis had been a trainer since 1999 with his last winner being Tudor Sunrise at Mudgee last July. He is survived by wife Julie, daughters Danielle and Belinda, and son David.

A funeral service for Lewis Seib will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Scone on Thursday (8th June) commencing at 10am, followed by a burial at Scone Cemetery then a wake at Muswellbrook Race Club.

Seib Family Benefit Night Mr Lewis Seib was diagnosed with a Stage 4 brain tumour on the 3rd of May 2017. Lewis was a well-liked horse trainer in Muswellbrook and has been in the industry for 45 years.

Lewis ran his own stable with his daughter Danielle by his side. Danielle is a trackwork rider and University student. Lewis' wife Julie handles the books for the business while also working at Scone Public School.

David his son is a keen racing enthusiast who is also a owner and manager of syndications with his mates. Belinda his daughter is an owner as well in the family business who also goes to University. They are a much admired family in the local racing area.
