Appeals Update as at 29 August 2020

Apprentice Thomas Sherry – Heard 28 August 2020

The Racing NSW Appeal Panel heard an appeal of Apprentice Jockey Thomas Sherry in respect to a charge under AR129(2) for not providing Al Snip full opportunity to win or obtain the best possible place in the field at Wyong on 31 July 2020.

The appeal on conviction was dismissed and penalty reduced from 4 weeks suspension of his permit to ride in races to a 3 week suspension, to commence on 31 August 2020 and to expire on 21 August 2020 on which day he may ride.

Licensed Trainer Mrs Sharon Pepper and Foreman Mr Mark Pepper

The appeal on severity of penalty by licensed trainer Mrs Sharon Pepper for a breach of AR240(2) and foreman Mr Mark Pepper for a breach of AR227(a) is scheduled to be conducted on 3 September 2020.

Licensed Trainer Mrs Julie Pratten

The appeal on severity of penalty by licensed trainer Mrs Julie Pratten for a breach of AR240(2) is scheduled to be conducted on 3 September 2020.

Licensed Jockey Adam Hyeronimus and Stablehand Blake Paine

The appeal on conviction and penalty of jockey Adam Hyeronimus for breaches of AR115(1) and AR232(i) and Blake Paine for breaches of AR236 and AR 232(i) are scheduled to be conducted on 21 and 22 September 2020.
