Two New Positions Available - Wyong Racecourse

Two new positions are available at Wyong Race Club. The positions are:- • 2IC/Groundsman, and • Trackwork supervisor

Both positions report to the WRC Racecourse Manager.

2IC/Groundsman Assist the Racecourse Manager with the management of staff and with the ongoing improvement of the Wyong Racecourse, specifically the preparation and maintenance of tracks, grounds, facilities and buildings. While not limited to the successful applicant is expected to have the following skills, experience, qualifications – • At least 5 years relevant industry experience • Knowledge of Turf Management • Machinery experience including tracks and turf management equipment • Strong communication skills • Excellent time management and organisational skills • Comprehensive understanding of racing industry and legislative requirements eg WH&S

This is an exciting opening for an experienced Racetrack and/or Turf Management applicant seeking further management and career opportunities working at one of NSW’s leading provincial thoroughbred racing and training venues. Wyong RC conducts 22 race meetings and 10 registered trials meetings each year and has around 240 horses in work at the venue.

Trackwork Supervisor Wyong RC is also seeking a reliable person to oversee morning track work and ensure trainers and riders are abiding with RNSW and Wyong RC regulations.

The successful applicant will need to work unsupervised and be extremely proactive, ideally have relevant experience in a racing stable, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of WH&S legislation and the ability to follow policies and procedures.

The work involves close liaison with trainers and other track users within the complex on a daily basis to ensure the safe operation of the training tracks. Attention to detail including a high standard of reliability and punctuality is very important. Accuracy of work output including record keeping and reporting is a key requirement of this job.

You must have a current drivers licence and will be required to undertake First Aid training. This is a full-time position involving early morning starts and some weekend work.
