The third day of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday features two of the nation’s most sought-after Group 1 races – the $1.5 million Kia Tancred Stakes and $750,000 Vinery Stud Stakes.
Australian Turf Club has announced its longstanding partnership with one of the Hunter Valley’s most respected breeding operations in Vinery Stud will extend a further three years.
ATC's Head of Racing and Wagering Nevesh Ramdhani said: “We are delighted to continue partnering with Vinery Stud, one of the world-class Thoroughbred nurseries in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

“The Vinery Stud Stakes is a rare opportunity on the Australian racing calendar for a three-year-old filly to win a Group 1 over a middle distance."
Vinery Stud's General Manager Peter Orton said: “Racing is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to be associated with a race that celebrates the rising stars of our sport who are the lifeblood of the industry."
Boom filly Treasurethe Moment trained by Matt Laurie and with last week’s TAB Golden Slipper-winning jockey Damien Lane opens a dominant $1.70 into $1.65 TAB favourite in the Vinery Stud Stakes.
She is looking to win a seventh consecutive race and a second Group 1 as a filly.
Two Chris Waller-trained runners Movin Out and Declichy Boulevard are equal on the second line of betting at $7 as he looks to win the race for a fourth time in just seven years.
Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli’s unbeaten filly Verona Rose with Kerrin McEvoy aboard is at $12.
The $1.5m Gr 1-Kia Tancred Stakes is Australia’s only Group 1 weight-for-age race run over 2400m and sees the return to Sydney of UK visitor Dubai Honour, trained by William Haggas.
The horse to be ridden by Tom Marquand is the $3.60-$3.40 TAB favourite. Dubai Honour took out the Ranvet Stakes and Queen Elizabeth Stakes double in the Sydney autumn of 2023.
Vauban for trainers Gait Waterhouse & Adrian Bott is a $4 chance with Tim Clark aboard after an impressive first-up win in Sydney in the Sky High Stakes at Rosehill Gardens.
Arapaho ($6) for trainer Bjorn Baker and jockey Rachel King are looking to win a second Kia Tancred Stakes after taking out the 2023 renewal.
Saturday also sees the running of several other Group races, including the $300,000 Gr 2-Precise Air Neville Sellwood Stakes and $300,000 Gr 2-Chincotta Chemist Emancipation Stakes.
The $250,000 Gr 3-Racing and Sports Doncaster Prelude is also run on Saturday ahead of the opening day of The Star Championships next week and the running of Royal Randwick’s iconic $4m The Star Doncaster Mile.
Saturday’s 10-race card has attracted 147 entries with race 1 due to start at 12.30pm and the final race at 5.55pm.
