Top ATC Executive Takes On International Role

Senior Australian Turf Club executive James Ross will conclude a highly successful stint in Sydney racing in coming months before taking on a leading role in Hong Kong.

Mr Ross – current ATC Head Of Racing and Wagering – will leave the ATC after the upcoming Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival following eight years at the Club.

Mr Ross [pictured left] was appointed as General Manager Racing Wagering & International in May 2016 before a promotion to the Leadership Team in 2020, when he assumed overall responsibility for racing services as well as track and training operations.

Australian Turf Club Chief Executive, Matt Galanos thanked and congratulated Mr Ross on a string of achievements and successes as Sydney racing continues to thrive.

“James has been instrumental in ATC remaining at the forefront of racing in Australia," Mr Galanos said.

“He has ensured ATC has continued to forge a reputation as an industry leader through the delivery of a world-class racing product and development of both racing and training surfaces.

“James has led a team which has also greatly improved the ownership experience, industry and wagering initiatives along with significant growth in international participation across Autumn and Spring carnivals.

“We thank James for his outstanding service and it is measure of not only his talent but also the standing of Sydney racing that the Hong Kong Jockey Club has offered him such a role."

The ATC has begun an immediate search to fill Mr Ross’ role.
