The Star Signs New Three-Year Deal With Australian Turf Club

Australian Turf Club has signed an expanded three-year deal with one of its longest-standing partners The Star Sydney to promote Sydney’s world-class racing, hospitality and entertainment program.

After seven years as sponsor of The Star Doncaster Mile, The Star Sydney has extended its support of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival by becoming naming rights partner for Royal Randwick’s autumn showpiece, The Star Championships.

The two-day The Star Championships will be held at racing headquarters Royal Randwick on 4 April and 11 April 2020. The partnership ensures that official naming rights for The Star Championships continues through to 2022.

The highly revered Group 1 $3 million The Star Doncaster Mile will be run at Royal Randwick on The Star Championships Day 1, and the Group 2 $1 million The Star Percy Sykes Stakes for two-year-olds will be run on The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day.

The Star will also have naming rights for The Star Mile run as a part of The Everest Carnival in October 2020 and 2021.

The new agreement secures The Star Sydney as the Official Entertainment Partner of Australian Turf Club and marks the continuation of a 20-year association between Australian Turf Club and The Star Entertainment Group.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Commercial, Corina Black, said the partnership sees the ATC and The Star Sydney unite in their commitment to making Sydney a must-visit destination.

“The Star Sydney and the Australian Turf Club are leading tourist destinations in their own right, and with that comes a shared passion for delivering unique world-class customer experiences and the very best service and hospitality for our guests,” Ms. Black said.
