Bigger goals are in store for outstanding talent The Autumn Sun after he maintained his unbeaten record in the Energy Air Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick today.
The $2 favourite shrugged off a determined challenge from third placegetter Whiteley (Lee Magorrian, $7) to win by a length with Royal Celebration (Andrew Adkins, $9.50) finishing strongly to grab second, a long neck in advance of Whiteley.

Winning jockey Brenton Avdulla was full of praise for The Autumn Sun, saying the colt has untapped ability.
"He's pretty smart and I think in around 12 months time you'll see a very good horse.
"Races like the Randwick and Rosehill Guineas will be his go."
Chris Waller's stable foreman, Charlie Duckworth, said: "We thought there'd be a more genuine tempo but Brenton was aware of what was happening and he popped him out three-deep.
"The horse is still working it out. We're delighted with the performance and he will certainly now come on from the run."
Early leader Mickey Blue Eyes (Andrew Mallyon, $9.50) tired noticeably from the 250m and beat just one runner to the post.
