Sportsbet Bonus Series’ This Sydney Everest Carnival

Racing NSW today announced changes to bonuses offered for sprint and middle-distance racing totalling $6 million during the Sydney Everest Carnival.

The $3 million Sportsbet Bet With Mates Bonus will be offered in 2023 over six feature sprint races from the Concorde Stakes through to the Giga Kick Stakes.

The $1 million Sportsbet Multi Bonus applies to the Giga Kick Stakes for horses placing in that race after contesting the TAB Everest, Sydney Stakes or The Kosciuszko.

The $2 million Sportsbet Emerald Mile Bonus will be offered in 2023 for horses competing in both the Epsom Handicap and King Charles III Stakes.

Sprint Bonuses

  • $3 million Sportsbet Bet With Mates Bonus

The $3 million Sportsbet Bet With Mates Bonus is continued in 2023, being run over the following races:

  • Concorde Stakes, 2 September 2023 at Randwick over 1000m
  • The Shorts, 16 September 2023 at Randwick over 1100m
  • Premiere Stakes, 30 September 2023 at Randwick over 1200m
  • The TAB Everest, 14 October 2023 at Randwick over 1200m
  • Sydney Stakes, 14 October 2023 at Randwick over 1200m
  • Giga Kick Stakes, 4 November 2023 at Rosehill over 1300m

Again, points will be awarded based on 5 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th and 1 point for 5th in each of the first 5 races, with double points awarded for the Giga Kick Stakes on Golden Eagle Day.

Additionally, any horse gaining a start in The TAB Everest as an emergency and finishing sixth to tenth inclusive will be allocated 1 point in the series.

It remains a condition of the bonus that horses must have competed in at least three races in the series to be eligible.

The total of $3 million in bonuses will be distributed as follows to the top five eligible horses based on the points accumulated.

The second leg of this series is The Shorts, Group 2 with prizemoney of $1 million to be run this Saturday at Royal Randwick.

  • Sportsbet Multi Bonus

Racing NSW is also offering the $1 million Sportsbet Multi Bonus which is payable to eligible horses that finish first, second or third in the Giga Kick Stakes on 4 November 2023 at Rosehill Gardens.

To be eligible for the Sportsbet Multi bonus, horses will need to have contested one of the TAB Everest, Sydney Stakes or The Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick on 14 October 2023.

The bonus amount is $1 million, distributed as follows based on the finishing position in the Giga Kick Stakes:

If the same horse wins both the TAB Everest and The Giga Kick Stakes in the same year, the winning bonus increases to $1 million from $700,000.

Subject to the conditions of each bonus, horses may participate in and win bonuses from both the Sportsbet Bet With Mates Bonus and the Sportsbet Multi Bonus.

Middle Distance Bonus

  • $2 million Sportsbet Emerald Mile Bonus

Racing NSW is commencing a new bonus for key middle-distance races in the Sydney Everest Carnival.

The $2 million Sportsbet Emerald Mile Bonus will be based on points earned in the Epsom Handicap (30 September 2023) and King Charles III Stakes (14 October 2023).

The middle-distance bonus will be paid to the horses accumulating the most points from the two races. Points will be awarded based on 5 points for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th and 1 point for 5th in each race.

The series will see a $1 million bonus paid to the winning horse, with bonuses paid to the top four eligible horses from the two races.
