Alena Skerritt has earned top points in the Rising Star Series for apprentice jockeys with a strong win in heat 14 at Taree.
Skerritt greeted the judge with Manhattan Road for trainer Tracey Bartley five and a half lengths ahead of the field after leading all the way.
The win was Skerritt’s first in the series and sees her jump to equal 7th spot in overall points.
Mikayla Weir's runner-up effort aboard I’ll Take Money earned her five points to climb to 2nd spot on the leaderboard.
Jackson Murphy finished third on Queen Elektra to claim three points.
Despite finishing outside the placings, Nyssa Burrells collected one point to maintain her overall lead in the series.
Burrells (20) sits a point ahead of Mikayla Weir (19) with Blaike McDougall (18) third.
Tamworth will host heat 15 of the Series next Monday, 6 February.
