Sergeant Bilko captured his second successive Tullibigeal Picnic Cup (1600m) on the weekend and in the process has raced to the lead in the inaugural NSW Picnic Champion Series.
Sergeant Bilko, at the luxury odds of $8, was ridden by Simone Vella with the duo having a half length to spare over Damysus (Ashley Boyd, $4.60) with favourite As Easy As (Billy Owen, $3.60) another half length away.
Sergeant Bilko (34 points) is now five points clear of As Easy As with Kinda Tangy (27pts) in third berth. Spare Parts also picked up points at Tullibigeal when runner-up to Rocksham in the Tullibigeal Sprint (975m).

The points score began at Harden in 2016, with the NSW Picnic Champion Series Final being run on Dubbo Gold Cup Day (Sunday, 10th September 2017) offering $50,000 in prizemoney.
To qualify, horses will acquire points for every picnic race meeting they attend in NSW, with the highest ranking horses at the end of the 12 months being eligible to nominate for the Picnic Champions Final.
All horses except Maidens are eligible to qualify (Clubs must be affiliated with the NSW Picnic Racing Association and use Approved Riders).
