Scone Race Club will stage its ' Where There's a Will' Raceday this Friday (27th October) - a Racing NSW Country Showcase meeting offering minimum $30,000 prizemoney - with free entry. The raceday supports the Where There’s A Will Foundation, an Upper Hunter charity, and to help kick off the fundraising a signed set of racing silks worn by the winner of the TAB Anniversary Highway race on The Everest Day at Royal Randwick (Saturday 14th October) will be auctioned. The silks are signed by all 12 jockeys who rode in the inaugural The Everest, the world's richest turf race, including winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy on Redzel. It's a one-of-a-kind item with the silks to be professionally mounted and framed. All proceeds from the sale of these silks will be donated to Where There’s a Will, a not-for-profit charity established in the Upper Hunter, NSW to address significant mental health issues facing the community. The charity nurtures and supports young people in the Upper Hunter through positive education and community awareness, reducing mental illness and creating a thriving community.
