Racing returns to Rosehill Gardens this Saturday for Lord Mayor’s Cup Day, featuring the $150,000 Listed Lord Mayor’s Cup on the nine-race card.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Ecuador ($3.20 TAB Fixed Odds) is aiming to become the first horse in more than 40 years to win a second Lord Mayor’s Cup.
Chris Waller trained Alward to be ridden by in-form jockey Tye Angland is on the third line of betting at $3.90 TAB Fixed Odds.
Rosehill Gardens Track Manager Shaun Patterson said the surface was a Soft 5 ahead of Saturday’s meeting but was expected to get to a Good 4 by raceday.
The last meeting at Rosehill Gardens was on 2 April.
“We have had 12mm of rain in the last seven days and 2mm of irrigation and it has the track sitting in top shape for a good track by Saturday,’’ Mr Patterson said.
“We have verti-drained the track since the last meeting and the continued warm weather has helped the grass stay nice and lush to hold in the moisture and provide that good cushion.
“There is no rain forecast for at least a week so we are looking to be in the good range by Saturday morning.’’
The first race on Saturday starts at 11.40am and the last race is due to jump at 4.45pm.
