Rodeo Performance In The Past For Exciting Galloper At Muswellbrook

By Mark Brassel

A horse beaten just once – after a buck jumping performance – will head to Muswellbrook this Thursday and is set to make amends.

Trained at Wyong by Brett Partelle, the talented Invincible Quest will be making his fourth appearance having won three races. The gelding won at Goulburn in November 2015 before resuming just over a year later when well-fancied at Gosford.

“He is a thin-skinned horse and we think the saddle pinched him and he started to buck jump and was pulled up,” Partelle explained. “We then took him to barrier trials at Gosford and Newcastle and he was fine.

"So we started him at Cessnock where he won easily. He’ll win better races for sure.”

The four-year-old bounced back with a scintillating near six-length romp over the 900m journey at Cessnock on February 14.

“His time was just outside the track record so he’s a horse with a lot of ability. He’s a nice galloper and we’ve purposefully taken our time with him.”

Invincible Quest has since been kept up to the mark with a narrow win in a Wyong trial on March 22 where he defeated Mount Nebo who then went to Doomben to win a Saturday class race.

Invincible Quest will line up in the XXXX Gold Class 2 Handicap (900m) with Aaron Bullock engaged to ride and is one of five runners competing for the Partelle camp at Muswellbrook.

Time Stalker (Travis Wolfgram) is also entered for the same event: “He’s quite a smart horse but has not raced since last July and just might find the 900-metres a little short.”

Gai’s Quest (Grant Buckley) will be having her second start in the Mikki Isle @ Arrowfield 3yo Maiden (1000m): “She did well on debut (third) at Muswellbrook and has derived great benefit from the run,” Partelle said.

The stable’s other runners at Muswellbrook are Ready and Flying (Andrew Gibbons; Two River Wines Class Hcp) and Silent Dream (Luke Cumberland; Magic Millions National Sale Benchmark 55 Hcp).
