"Unbelievable. I've never seen anything like that ever. Phenomenal."
Those were the words used by trainer Ciaron Maher after Pride Of Jenni's fascinating front-running display to win the $5m Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).
The mare ran her rivals ragged, leading at a very fast pace, with Punter's Intelligence recording her first 1400m in 1:24.22.
Further, to put that into perspective, her leading margin at the 600m mark relative to Cascadian, who settled at the rear of the field, was 101 metres, giving those behind too much to do.
After adjusting for age, class, and historical factors, her overall time of 2:02.02 was solid relative to the day. In addition, she rated above the standard, but her winning margin was flattering against the clock.
Via Sistina was heavily backed into a dominant favourite but got too far back.
She was at the back of the second pack of runners and had to make a long-wide sustained run.
She clocked the meeting's fifth-fastest final 600m in 33.55. Stick with her.
Mr Brightside battled on well and Cascadian ran the races equal fastest final 200m in 11.66.
Autumn Angel was perfectly ridden by Mark Zahra to win the Australian Oaks (2400m).
He stalked race favourite Orchestral, and when he pushed out at the 300m mark, she immediately accelerated through the gap. The filly clocked the race's fastest final 200m in 11.63.
Zardozi's run was full of merit, and she had to exert too much energy between the 800m-200m, clocking 33.36.
Orchestral should lose no admirers and watch for her when she travels back to AUS in the spring.
Circle Of Fire is on an upwards ratings spiral and broke through for his maiden Group 1 in the Sydney Cup (3200m).
The import travelled three-wide without cover the entire trip and covered 3221.3m. His effort was full of merit, and even being out on a limb, he still responded under pressure when challenged to clock the race's quickest final 200m in 12.12.
He is still relatively lightly raced and has a bright future.
Athabascan was honest in defeat after looming to win, running the race quickest 400m-200m in 11.58.
Kalapour was brave making his run through the inferior ground and Selino ran the races fastest final 600m in 35.55.
Zougotcha made it back-to-back Group 1 wins after saluting in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m).
She had every chance stalking the speed and had a winning break between the 600m-200m running 22.44 whilst her stablemate Atishu was held up for a run.
Zougotcha maintained a strong finishing speed to the line and is at her peak.
Atishu was checked/blocked for the majority of the straight, but once clear, she savaged the line to just miss in a tight finish.
Her late visual strength was backed up by the clock, with the Chris Waller-trained galloper running the meeting's fastest final 200m in 11.23.
A quick mention of Territory Express, who overcame difficulties to win the Polytrack-Provincial Midway Championship (1400m).
He ran a slick overall time in 1:21.23, approximately 4.5 lengths quicker than the Listed South Pacific Classic (1400m).
Fastest last 600m: El Morzillo 33.26
