Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Rosehill Gardens 3rd December

The lightly raced Felix Majestic ran his rivals ragged in the Benchmark 72 over 1200m at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and he did it on both ends.

The three-year-old gelding went to a new level, and Punter’s Intelligence recorded that he ran an overall time of 1:08.73, approximately three lengths faster than the Benchmark 78 Ranvet Handicap (1200m).

As expected, the race rated highly relative to the day after adjustments and the decisive margins throughout confirmed the quality of the race.

Felix Majestic led at a solid tempo running his first 600m in 35.52 and still clocked the third quickest final 600m of the race in 33.21.

Garza Blanca was enormous in defeat after being blocked at a critical stage and also had the bias against him.

Further, he accelerated hard once clear and ran on into second place, beating the rest easily.

He ran slick overall closing sectionals with his final 600m/400m/200m splits in 32.79/21.64/10.90.

The colt is in-form and can be followed on dry tacks.

Tashi is ready to win, and Forecaster ran on well, clocking the second-quickest final 600m of the race in 33.19.

The short-priced favourite I Am Me had all favours but bolted in winning the Benchmark 88 Kia Ora Prague (1100m).

She was eased down prior to the line and still clocked the quickest final 200m split of the meeting in 10.81.

Lord Olympus was first-up, and he ran on well, clocking the fastest last 600m of the day in 32.77 and On The Lead was only a tick behind that in 32.78.

Favourite Frumos had no luck in the Benchmark 78 TAB Handicap (1350m), where the mare looked to be travelling well but was blocked for the entire straight.

Stablemate Thalassophile had the same issue, and both must be forgiven. Watch for them next start and they can make amends with even luck.

The race was run at a moderate tempo, but winner Ruby Tuesday overcame that with a sharp turn of foot, and she hit the line hard, running the fastest final 200m of the race in 11.34.

Bella Rouge was 28 days between runs and is ready to win now.

The Benchmark 72 Merry Christmas was run at a farcical tempo with leader Tenderize running the first 900m in 56.76.

Victor Danish Prince kept finding under pressure and ran the fastest final 200m split of the race in 11.24.

Although well beaten In De Summertime ran hidden closing sectionals relative to her beaten margin/finishing position running the fastest final 600m of the race in 33.35.

Import Touristic was also solid in his AUS debut and ran the equal second-fastest final 200m of the race in 11.25.

It’s worth noting two runners coming through the Midway Handicap (1300m) who are set to peak next start.

Silk Tie who had excuses, and Dalaalaat after having the pace/bias against. He hit the line hard, running the second-quickest final 600m sectional of the race in 34.02.

Fastest last 600m: Lord Olympus 32.77
