Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Rosehill 29th April

Godolphin two-year-old Dipsy Doodle went to a new level on Saturday at Rosehill Gardens, and her run was full of merit in the opening event over 1100m.

The filly was heavily backed late in the trade and was brave to fend off the late challengers to score.

Further, she clocked slick time relative to the day, even after adjusting for age, class, track deterioration and additional factors.

The James Cummings trained galloper had first use of the track, and Punter's Intelligence recorded she led at a very-fast pace running the first 500m in 30.78.

She showed natural pace building into a strong rhythm, and when she looked under pressure, she kept finding and ran 12.43 for her final furlong.

She has key attributes and follow her with confidence.

Debutant Ducasse was an eye-catching run, and he savaged the line.

The colt raced greenly/immaturely and never looked entirely happy in the testing conditions.

However, once balancing up, he clocked the meeting’s fastest final 600m/400m/200m splits in 34.75/22.62/11.82.

He will undoubtedly improve from the race experience and will be suited over more ground.

One of the day's wins was Bianco Vilano, who had to overcome difficulties to prevail in the TAB Highway (1400m).

He carried a hefty weight in the torrential conditions, and once a gap appeared, he flew home to clock one of the meeting's fastest final 200m sectionals in 11.94.

The Benchmark 72 Alan Davidson Handicap (1200m) had time/sectional merit, which was taken out by Cruel Summer.

To put that into perspective, although different race shapes, the overall time in 74.70 was approximately 3 lengths quicker than the Benchmark 88 over the same track/distance.

Cruel Summer revelled in the conditions and absorbed the genuine tempo.

He showed a sharp turn of foot, running 11.96 for his 400m-200m split and maintained a solid finishing speed to the line recording the race's fastest final 200m in 12.57.

Valiancy SPed favourite, was brave in defeat and never shirked her task to the line.

She was wide working throughout and covered an extra 5.9m relative to Cruel Summer.

The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace galloper has a fantastic record and follow her in a similar grade.

Import Kyeema ran an honest race in his OZ debut, clocking 36.82 for his final 600m, and Cinque Torri ran hidden closing splits recording the race quickest 400m-200m in 11.80.

Brad Rawiller rated Coal Crusher to perfection in the Benchmark 100 over 1400m, allowing him to have the energy to fend off the late closers.

The five-year-old led and ran his first 800m in 51.73, approximately 6.5 lengths slower than the TAB Highway (1400m) for that section on raw sectionals.

Logan Street Lion returned well but the run of the race was Bold Mac.

He was retrained early from a wide draw and had too much to do.

To his credit, he hit the line hard and ran one of the quickest final 200m sectionals of the day in 11.98. He can improve significantly second-up with a much more positive race setup.

Alcyone and Brutality also weren’t suited but both raced well.

A quick mention of Wrathful, who came from an almost impossible position with multiple factors against to win the Midway Handicap (1500m).

His late visual strength was backed up by the clock, with him clocking one of the meeting's fastest final 200m splits in 12.37.

Fastest last 600m: Ducasse 34.75
