Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Rosehill 20th July

Jo Jo Was A Man bounced back into winning form when striking a drier surface at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and his effort had merit in the Listed Winter Challenge (1500m).

The gelding chased a fast tempo, with leader Tamerlane running the first 900m in 54.63, approximately 16.5 lengths quicker than the Benchmark 72 event over 1500m.

Jockey Reece Jones produced Jo Jo Was A Man at the top of the straight and he ran one of the race's 400m-200m splits in 11.38.

Further, he kept responding under pressure, holding off the late challengers to run slick overall time.

More Secrets was a flashing light run, and although run to suit, she surged to the line, clocking one of the meeting's fastest final 600m splits in 34.20.

She profiles to peak third-up as her pattern suggests, and a rise in trip would be ideal.

Charterhouse tried hard in defeat, and Junipal had genuine excuses being checked/blocked at key stages.

The opening event saw the clash between multiple two-year-olds who look to have bright futures.

Waterhouse & Bott produced another winner with Mayfair doing it on both ends to score, and he ran fast time.

Moreover, his time in 1:11.26 was approximately five lengths faster than the F&M Benchmark 78 (1200m) and almost three lengths quicker than the CG&E Benchmark 78 event (1200m).

The colt led at a genuine tempo, accelerated, and kept finding under pressure to run the race's second-fastest final 200m in 12.03.

To add extra merit to his performance, he was the only winner to lead the entire day.

Mawjood, who is still learning, should lose no admirers after always facing the breeze, and he sprinted hard, clocking 11.49 between the 400m-200m.

Mergeila was checked/blocked at a critical stage and wanted to get on the wrong leg at times in the straight but knuckled down hard late to run the race's fastest final 200m in 11.97. She will only improve from the experience and is suited over more ground.

Getafix loomed to win after sprinting a sharp 11.33 between the 400m-200m and then peaked on his run. The market suggested he would benefit from the run, and his return improved.

Age Of Sail should've won the staying event over 2400m after having no luck.

He was held up for the majority of the straight, but once clear, he savaged the line, clocking the meeting's equal eight final 200m split in 11.52.

The Kris Lees galloper held his action well through the line and stick with him next start.

Strathtay's effort was better than the form guide reads, and he proved he could handle the dry ground.

The race shape completely unsuited him. He had to make a long, sustained wide run and ran the race's fastest final 600m in 34.61.

Lonhro's Queen flashed home to win the TAB Highway (1100m), running the race's fastest final 200m in 11.75, but the run of Super Norwest was brave.

She led into the wind, going out at a fast pace, running her first 500m in 29.67, approximately 5.5 quicker than the Handicap won by Jedibeel.

The three-year-old stuck on well while the other on-pacers faded and her effort can be bonused.

Fastest last 600m: Jedibeel 33.56
