Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Randwick 6th January

Running By has gone to a new level this campaign, and Punter's Intelligence recorded her sectional merit when winning the Benchmark 78 Event over 1500m at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Jockey Jason Collett made the winning move early to roll forward after the mare was caught in an awkward position early on.

Further, she showed adaptability to relax after being ridden up and then controlled the tempo throughout.

The mare responded well under pressure, showed a turn of foot before the clock backed up her late visual strength and ran the meeting's sixth-fastest final 200m split in 11.51.

She is on an upwards rating's spiral and is one to keep following.

Anythink Goes had every chance but still reeled off fast closing sectionals and ran one of the fastest final 400m splits of the meeting in 22.46.

Import Sky Out has returned well, entering his second Australian campaign, and he ran the race's third-quickest final 600m in 34.69. He will be fitter for that effort and is suited over more ground.

Terra Mater continues to take the next step, and she was impressive in winning the Fillies & Mares Benchmark 78 event over 1300m.

Nash Rawiller rode the four-year-old to perfection from the awkward draw and got her to travel well within herself throughout.

Further, he held her together, and when asked for an effort, she immediately accelerated, running 10.97 for her 400m-200m, then maintained a strong finishing speed to the line. Expect her to keep progressing through the grades.

African Daisy was honest first-up, and she hit the line hard, recording 11.88 for her final 200m and will be suited over more ground.

Bootscooter was an eye-catching run, running the fastest final 600m of the race in 34.09. She is suited down in grade; historically, she improves deeper into a prep.

Kinloch came from what looked like an impossible position in the big field after being restrained to the rear from a wide draw.

He was resuming in the TAB Handicap (1200m) and unleashed a powerful finish to run over the top of his rivals, with the gelding running 33.77 for his final 600m and the seventh quickest final 200m split of the meeting in 11.62.

Time To Boogie was sent out a clear favourite and was brave in defeat after always facing the breeze at a fast pace and doing work from a tricky draw. He can bounce back next start with a more favourable setup.

Dalaalat was caught out on a limb working and was honest after never shirking his task and ran 12.02 for his final 200m.

Legio Ten was building into it well, running the race's fastest 800m-400m in 22.00 before having no luck over the concluding stages.

So Go So Cool is another runner to highlight who is racing much better than the form guide reads.

He clocked the race's second fastest 400m-200m split in 11.12 and then was checked/blocked over the final furlong.

It's worth noting Tintookie has come back well and recorded the meetings fastest closing 600m/400m/200m splits in 32.61/21.80/11.23.

The Nathan Doyle trained Ambassadors is another galloper to keep an eye on who led at a genuine pace and raced in the inferior ground in the 3&4YO Benchmark 72 (1600m).

His first 1000m in 59.08 was approximately nine lengths quicker than the TAB Highway (1600m) using raw times as a direct comparison.

He battled on well while the other on-pace runners faded, which bonused his effort and watch from him in a similar grade.

Fastest last 600m: Tintookie 32.61
