Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Randwick 24th June

Ucalledit had been racing without luck all campaign, but the gelding bounced back into the winner's stall when saluting in the feature Listed Civic Stakes (1400m).

Punter's Intelligence recorded the race was run at a genuine tempo, with leader Frosty Rocks running the first 800m in 47.59.

Ucalledit built through his gears well clocked the race's third fastest final 200m in 11.80, and ran 1:22.79 for his overall time.

To put that into perspective, that time was approximately 7.5 lengths quicker than the TAB Highway (1400m) and 6.5-7 lengths faster than the Benchmark 78 (1400m).

Cisco Bay raced in the inferior ground but still ran the race's quickest 600m-200m split in 22.11.

Bonny Ezra has returned well, sprinted hard and clocked one of the fastest final 600m splits of the meeting in 33.84.

Further, that effort will give him a solid platform to build off this campaign and watch for him over more ground.

Forgive Tamahere, who travelled well but was heavily checked and lost all momentum.

Overriding was an impressive winner and overcame difficulties to score in the Benchmark 72 event over 1300m.

The filly was blocked for a run at a critical stage, but once a gap appeared, she accelerated and savaged the line running one of the fastest final 200m splits of the day in 11.47.

The Nathan Doyle trained galloper is on an upwards ratings spiral, has key attributes and can be followed confidently.

West Of Africa was restrained from a wide draw and got too far back in the run.

His effort had hidden sectional merit, and he clocked the tenth quickest final 600m sectional of the meeting in 34.44.

Aristonous was arguably the win of the day after flashing down the outside to prevail in the Benchmark 72 (1600m).

The import was run to suit, but he showed a powerful finish to run one of the fastest final 400m meeting splits of the day in 22.52. His historical profile and key indicators suggest he can only improve by stepping up in trip.

Louisville was honest in defeat and Dream Hour didn't have much luck.

Insurrection ran his rivals ragged in the Benchmark 78 assignment over 1100m. He showed speed and responded well under pressure to run an overall time of 1:03.48.

Moreover, that time was approximately 4 lengths quicker than the Midway Handicap (1100m) as a direct comparison.

The main talking point out of the race was Iowna Merc, who was a complete forgive run.

He had pre-race issues, began awkwardly and got shuffled back to an impossible position.

However, the gelding charged home from the rear of the field, clocking slick closing sectionals. He ran his final 600m/400m/200m splits in 33.82/22.63/11.62. He can bounce back next start.

It's worth mentioning Burrandana, whose run had merit in the TAB Highway (1400m).

The Wagga trained galloper had too much to do after drifting back from an awkward draw, wasn't suited to the race shape and was forced into the inferior ground.

He ran the race's fastest closing splits, and his final 200m in 11.74 was strong, with the gelding doing his best work past the post.

The four-year-old has solid form lines, won second-up last prep and follow him in a similar grade next start.

Fastest last 600m: Twice As Special 33.27.
