Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Golden Slipper Day

Champion trainer Chris Waller added the world's richest two-year-old race, the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), to his mantle.

World Class jockey Ryan Moore gave the winner, Shinzo, a perfect ride, but he won in style and was strong over the concluding stages.

Punter's Intelligence recorded the colt building through his gears well, but he asserted dominance in his final 200m sectional.

He clocked 11.54 for that split, approximately 1.5 lengths faster than the following best.

As expected, he produced the peak 2YO performance of the season and improved significantly from his Group 3 Pago Pago (1200m) win only a week prior.

All key indicators suggest a rise in distance will only be beneficial.

The race was run at a genuine tempo, with the leader Exploring running the first 600m in 35.02.

Stablemate and favourite Cylinder had his chance but was honest running second.

The Godolphin galloper hit the front after accelerating between the 400m-200m running 11.26 for that section but couldn't match Shinzo over the final furlong.

King's Gambit sweated up badly pre-race, but to his credit, his run had merit.

Further, he had to make a long-wide sustained run and ran the race's fastest 400m-200m split in 11.03 but peaked late.

He is still learning, and with natural maturity, expect him to return as a superior three-year-old.

Empire Of Japan was solid, running fifth and ran the equal race quickest 600m-400m split in 11.27 and closed off ok.

Anamoe was brave/tough winning the George Ryder Stakes (1500m), and he now extends his Group 1 wins to nine.

The race was run at a slow tempo after adjusting for age, class and additional factors. Moreover, the race's first 900m was run in 55.63, approximately 0.5 lengths slower than the Midway Handicap (1500m).

The Godolphin galloper travelled the most distance out of all runners, being 1511.3m. Further, he still ran the race quickest 600m-400m in 11.16 and kept finding under pressure when challenged.

In all three runs this prep, he has had to win in a different way confirming his adaptability being his key asset to success.

His peak preparation figure has come fourth-up in his past two campaigns, and expect him to elevate again over more ground.

Fangirl's primed to run a peak performance next start after she ran the race's fastest final 200m in 11.02. Her last few bounds were powerful and watch for over more ground.

Artorius had excuses and couldn't build momentum at a critical stage.

The run of Levante was eye-catching after getting too far back throughout transit.

She had too much to do making a long, wide, sustained run, clocking one of the fastest final 600m sectionals of the meeting in 32.99.

Watch for her when she returns to Fillies/Mares grade in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf (1600m) in the coming weeks.

One of the main talking points of the meeting was the ultra-impressive performance of the international raider Duabi Honour.

From a ratings perspective, he produced the highest figure of the meeting.

The five-year-old stalked a moderate tempo, and when asked for an effort, he exploded away from his rivals.

His final 600m/400m/200 splits were 33.31/22.22/11.22, and he smashed the line.

The William Haggas trained runner will now head to the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth stakes (2000m) in what sets up to be one of the most exciting races of the autumn.

The Listed Darby Munro (1200m) broke the clock, and Opal Ridge, went to a new level producing a career peak figure.

The filly clocked an overall time of 1:09.43, approximately 1.5 lengths quicker than the Golden Slipper (1200m) and 0.5 lengths faster than the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m).

Her win was full of merit after being restrained early from a wide draw, and although run to suit, she made substantial ground.

She accelerated hard, running 10.85 between the 400m-200m and kept finding the line clocking 11.30 for her final 200m.

Follow her with confidence in this campaign.

Swiss Exile who resumed ran well and Nettuno stuck on well leading at a solid tempo.

Fastest last 600m: Key Largo 32.86
