King Of The Castle became one of the leading market fancies in the upcoming $3M Big Dance (1600m) after he burst through the pack to score on Saturday at Royal Randwick.
The seven-year-old earned a spot in the feature race when he won The Big Dance Wild Card (1600m) and ran a solid time.
Punter's Intelligence recorded the race was run at a moderate tempo, with leader Pandano running the first 1000m in 59.84.
King Of The Castle was well-ridden, but he showed late strength and clocked the race's third-fastest final 200m split in 12.08.
Lion's Roar is racing well without luck, and his effort once again had sectional merit.
After being restrained from a wide draw, the gelding had too much to do and got too far back whilst carrying a hefty weight.
He had the race shape against, had to make his run through the inferior ground, but to his credit, ran some of the fastest closing splits of the meeting.
Further, he recorded his final 600m/400m/200m sectionals in 34.60/23.08/11.88. He is ready to peak fourth-up with a more favourable race setup.
Spangler also had the pace against and ran on well, running 34.86 for his final 600m.
Rogue Bear was an impressive winner first-up and backed it up here with a strong finish and ran his final 200m in 12.13.
The other feature race on the day was the Five Diamonds Prelude (1500m), and Palmetto was brave to hold off the late challengers.
He ran his 400m-200m split in 11.56 and maintained a solid finishing speed whilst the other on-pace runners faded.
Placegetters Detonator Jack and Waterford both charged to the line and just missed in a tight finish. Detonator Jack ran his final 600m in 35.10 and Waterford 35.39.
Democracy Manifest was the flashing light run after getting a long way back and backing up his Group 1 Epsom (1600m) performance. He ran his final 400m/200m in 23.34/12.07 and is racing in career-best form.
Shangri La Express was an impressive winner in the opening event, and he bolted in running slick time relative to the day after adjustments.
The colt was well fancied late in the trade in the Kirkham Plate (1000m), and after being ridden to lead, he showed the key attribute of being able to relax and immediately accelerate. Moreover, he pulled away from his rivals and ran the fastest last 200m split of the meeting in 11.75.
Miss Judas raced greenly but made a long-sustained sprint and clocked one of the meetings fastest final 600m in 34.08. Expect her to improve from the race experience.
Lamentum made solid ground and ran his final furlong in 11.99.
The shortest price favourite of the day Unspoken had all favours leading at a slow tempo but he went to a new level again, producing a career peak figure to score. His overall time was approximately 1 length superior to the Big Dance Wild Card (1600m).
The Snowden galloper put the race away between the 400m-200m, running the race's second fastest split of the race 11.60.
Wicklow's return was full of merit after having the pace/bias against.
He ran home hard, running his final 600m in 34.77, approximately 4 lengths quicker than the race's following best. Watch for him over more ground.
