A nose proved the difference between winning and losing but regardless of the result Baysa was a sectional star in her return at Rosehill on Wednesday.
The Punter's Intel data highlights the mare's first-up performance in her 1500m event where she reeled off easily the fastest last 600m of her race in 33.84 seconds.
That time was more than 0.6 seconds quicker than any other runner in the race and she covered 5m more than the winner in running. She has a win over Sayed over 2100m against her name and looks in for a very good prep.
The opening event for the fillies saw a couple of nice performances from the winner Demerara and runner-up Workdrinks.
Demerara's win turned out to be better than it looked as she had to do a lot of work early, 11.04 from the 1000m-800m and 11.09 from the 800m to the 600m.
So to fight on and hold off Workdrinks who ran a 33.87 last 600m (the only sub-34 second of the race) had plenty of merit.
Godolphin four-year-old Osborne Bulls lost his unbeaten record when runner-up to Invincibella but he did produce a last 600m of 33.55 and a smashing section from the 400m-200m of 10.88 so it's no surprise he knocked up slightly late.
A couple of Chris Waller stayers resumed with eye-catching efforts in the seventh event over 1500m.
Tumultuous ran close to the fastest last 600m of the day clocking 33.41 including a 10.83 (400-200) while Mortar Platoon ran seventh but ran 10.85 for that 400-200 split and a last 600m of 33.77 suggesting both have come back in fine order.
Fastest last 600m: Lady Jivago 33.38
Most ground covered to place: Wine Bush (+10m); Rosetta's Whey (+8.2m).
