A punter stands to win $40,000 if Interlocutor wins the 2018 Doncaster Mile.
TAB have opened markets for three of the 2018 Championships races which also includes the TJ Smith Stakes and rich $4m Queen Elizabeth Stakes to be run on April 7 and April 14.
The plucky punter wasted no time plonking $800 on the Godolphin import at $51 shortly after the TAB market opened. The five-year-old looks certain to chase Doncaster exemption in Royal Randwick’s Inglis Villiers Stakes in a fortnight’s time.
"Interlocuter attracted some bets as soon as the market first opened. It is $51 to $26 and the most popular runner in terms of money taken,” TAB’s Andrew Georgiou said.
"The other runner they've been keen to jump on early is Chris Waller's Egg Tart ($26). They are the only two that have had any real interest at this point."
Happy Clapper is $11 favourite for the feature mile with Tom Melbourne at $15 while It’s Somewhat is rated a $26 chance to defend his title having beaten Happy Clapper last year.
She Will Reign has attracted support in the TJ Smith Stakes with TAB’s trading team keeping her at $26 for the time being.
"The Golden Slipper winner has been the best backed runner to win the TJ Smith,” Georgiou said.
"She is easily the most popular runner with some light specking coming for Viddora at the $51 quote, which is no surprise, considering her win the Winterbottom on the weekend."
Meanwhile, Winx has been posted at $1.40 to take out the Queen Elizabeth Stakes from Humidor at $11 and Melbourne Cup runner up Johannes Vermeer $15 while dominant three-year-old stayer Ace High is rated a $51 chance.
