Outcome of Appeal – Tommy Berry
Licensed jockey Tommy Berry lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under rule AR131(b) after his ride on Kentucky Wildcat in race 5 (Frosted @ Darley Handicap 1100m) at Warwick Farm Racecourse, on Wednesday, 12 February 2020. Following a stewards inquiry, Tommy Berry was suspended for 15 days commencing on 17 February and concluding 3 March 2020, on which he may ride. The appeal was heard on 20 February 2020 at the offices of Racing NSW.
The panel gave the following orders:
1. Appeal Allowed
2. Finding of breach of AR131(b) set aside
3. Penalty of a 15-day suspension set aside
4. Appeal deposit to be refunded
Outcome of Appeal - Nash Rawiller
Licensed jockey Nash Rawiller lodged an appeal against penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under rule AR131(a) after his ride on Marnix in Race 2 (Inglis Millennium 2yos, 1100m) at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday, 12 February 2020. Following a Stewards inquiry, Nash Rawiller was suspended for a period to commence 25 February and to expire on 1 March 2020, on which he may ride. The appeal was heard on 20 February 2020 at the offices of Racing NSW.
The panel made the following orders:
1. Appeal dismissed
2. Finding of breach of AR131(a) confirmed
3. Suspension of four race meetings confirmed, with such suspension commencing on 25 February and expiring on 1 March 2020, on which day the appellant may ride
4. Appeal deposit forfeited
