Outcome Of Appeal By Licensed Jockey Josh Adams

Licensed jockey Joshua Adams lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR137(b) after his ride on Purton in Race 3 (World Wide Cables 2yo Maiden Handicap, 1400m) at Kembla Grange Racecourse on Saturday, 2 June 2018.

Following a Stewards inquiry on this date, Mr Adams was suspended for a period commencing Sunday, 10 June 2018 and to expire on Tuesday, 19 June 2018 on which day he may ride. This appeal was heard on Tuesday, 12 June 2018 commencing at 9:30am.

The panel gave the following orders:
1. Appeal against conviction dismissed
2. Appeal against penalty dismissed
3. Penalty of a 9-day suspension confirmed. Such penalty to commence on Sunday, 10 June 2018 and to expire on Tuesday, 19 June 2018 on which day the appellant may ride
4. Appeal deposit forfeited
