Neil Evans' Tips For Hawkesbury (Saturday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and railout 4m from 1100m to 450m and True the remainder:

Race 1 - 12:45PM LAWRENCE & HANSON SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

1. Gunroom
is a promising three-year-old by Snitzel, resuming off two improving trials. Was close up in all three runs last spring against deeper opposition to launch his career. Returns without blinkers, and with fine weather ahead, may well get his preferred Good rated surface. The market will also be a big indicator with talented Godolphin filly 8. Mother Goose who returns off a 32 week berak for only her second run after hitting the line late here on debut last winter. 7. Maid Of Moolah is a filly by Capitalist, and a natural market watch on debut for the Peter Snowden stable behind two trials. Watch the betting on 3. Nymphadora, a nicely bred filly who is trained on the course, and resumes off two trials. 5. Dubai Darling improving into her second start, goes in all trifectas and first four plays.

How to play it: Gunroom to win

Race 2 - 1:20PM PIPEMAKERS - WWC 2&3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

7. Impact Zone is a well bred colt by Exceed And Excel in the Snowden yard, making his debut behind two eye-catching trials, and is well placed in what is now a weakened race. 5. Sosueme stuck on okay when on debut at this track, although drawn much wider this time; while 9. Rustemo, a lightly raced colt by Russian Revolution, is first-up with a claim for the Kris Lees stable off two trials. Another debutant 10. Kitesurfing, a filly by Capitalist in the Ciaron Maher stable, has also trialled well, and capable of running into the money.

How to play it: Impact Zone to win

Race 3 - 1:55PM ROBUS - NEXANS MAIDEN PLATE (1300 METRES)

12. Siesta, a smart filly by Invader, is the clear one to beat here second-up. Was very stiff on the Kensington track 23 days ago when resuming, caught wide all the way with no cover, but still only went under less than a length. Drawn out again, but this is a course where it's easier to find cover, and carrying only 54.5kg after the claim, gets his chance to thunder home and make amends. Hasn't missed a place yet in four runs, the first three in handy Victorian maiden company. 3. Afloat shapes as each way value for Godolphin resuming for a second prep off two quieter trials. 7. Cheeky Dancer improves after doing her best work late on debut at the Kensington track when unwanted in betting. 11. Pelosa drawn inside second-up heads the rest.

How to play it: Siesta to win

Race 4 - 2:30PM TEKNIK - FIRESENSE PROVINCIAL MAIDEN PLATE (1500 METRES)

11. Literature Tycoon is a progressive filly who has so much more to offer than her modest record from six starts suggests. Ran home well from the back in consecutive runs at this track last year before spelling. Charged late to miss by a neck first-up at Newcastle before not really comfortable on the turning Wyong circuit 17 days ago. Much better suited here settling well back with time to balance up, and she boasts a dominant final 300m finishing burst. 14. Winning Rulet caught the eye on debut at Gosford rushing home late to miss by a long neck, and the longer trip looks a real plus. 10. Empusa is an improving stablemate of the top selection and is also in the hunt third-up after missing narrowly behind a smart one at Wyong 24 days ago. 4. Jason Darren hasn't missed a place in four runs this campaign, and is over the odds from the inside draw. 6. Audenzia is also each way value third-up and getting back on firmer ground.

How to play it: Literature Tycoon to win

Race 5 - 3:05PM ELECTRA CABLES - HAGER MIDWAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

7. She Conquers is a smart and lightly raced metropolitan filly resuming for a second take, off a soft trial. Was all set to go at Gosford a week ago before the last three races were abandoned. Impressed when powering home from well back to win a Midway Maiden just before Xmas, and has reportedly been working well since. Drawn to settle back with cover and produce a superior closing 300m burst on a more reliable and bigger course. 1. Love The Cube is bursting to win a second race, third-up off a month-long freshen. Hit the line hard in heavy going in a country CL1 before again driving late to miss narrowly at Kembla. 4. Flying Embers is a big market watch resuming off two progressive trials. Keep safe at bigger odds 2. Formal who is hard fit and missed by a whisker in BM 64 grade here four weeks back. Gap to the rest headed by 3. Veravino who reloads four weeks after a dominant maiden win at this track as a well backed favorite.

How to play it: She Conquers to win

Race 6 - 3:40PM IPD - PIERLITE CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

7. Koios is a talented albert frustrating four-year-old primed to finally add a second career win over a bit more ground, with blinkers being added in what is an open race. Scored a dominant country maiden win earlier in the prep before missing by a whisker when charging home in deeper company at Canterbury. Sat closer and again just missed at Newcastle last start, but gets a 4kg weight drop after the jockey's claim. 1. Prince Of Sorts will appreciate this company more after finishing down the track in a much deeper Provincial Qualifier third-up. 5. Invade And Conquer comes off a dominant third-up CL1 win; while 8. Wild Gypsy, also freshened off an easy win in weaker grade; and stablemate 9. Zousain Bolt back over his best trip deep into the prep, must be included in trifecta and first fours.

How to play it: Koios to win

Race 7 - 4:20PM HPM LEGRAND - BRILLIANT LIGHTING BM64 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

8. Threatening can strike fourth-up at good odds, and with blinkers back on. Flew home late to miss narrowly in a BM 64 at Warwick Farm before not suited cluttered up inside runners in weaker provincial class 16 days ago. Drawn to get to the outside here at the top of the straight. Big watch on 2. Last Command who resumes off two trials for the Michael Freedman stable, and normally comes to hand early in the prep. 12. Alabama Fox impressed with a smart second start win at Kembla from just off the speed after being well backed. Big gap to the rest headed by 6. Laurel Hill who drops in weight fifth-up, ahead of 7. Squeezebox resuming.

How to play it: Threatening to win

Race 8 - 5:00PM SAL - SCHNEIDER BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

1. Dashing Rupert is supremely paced to continue on his merry way second-up, and make it four wins from five starts. Settled well off the speed in heavy ground at Scone when resuming in a CL2 before powering home for a dominant success. Equally as effective on firm going, and he can settle closer here from a lower draw. The one to beat. 3. Istolea Merc draws right alongside, and is the natural threat shooting for a third win from his last four, and dropping back from metro company. 8. Hyperbolic is trained on the track and a sharp improver second-up; while 9. Inspired Star can run into the money at his fourth start.

How to play it: Dashing Rupert to win

Race 9 - 5:40PM CLEVERTRONICS - TRADER BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

14. Queen Strada is the one to beat fourth-up down in weight after a dominant maiden win at Kembla. 3. Hooligan Tommy comes off a fast-finishing BM 66 win in the country. 10. Golden Loom is hard fit and charged home from the back into a place at this track last start. 12. Kervette is also a genuine line-hitter, ready to win again fourth-up, and gets in well at the weights after the jockey's claim.
