Weir, who also enjoyed Rising Star success in heat 12 at Muswellbrook in January, has jumped from 5th to outright 2nd in overall points and is hot on the heels of series leader, Andrew Adkins. Adkins, picking up 5 points on Friday, maintains his position in the lead with 32 points.
With just two heats remaining, Weir is second on 28 points, ahead of Nyssa Burrells (25), with Blaike McDougall (24) and Nick Heywood (23) also in the mix as the series draws to a close.
The next heat will be run at Dubbo on May 15th, followed by the final round at Hawkesbury on May 30th.
