Licensed Jockey Chad Lever Lodges An Appeal

Licensed jockey Chad Lever has lodged an appeal against conviction and penalty after being found guilty by Racing NSW Stewards under AR135(b) after his ride on Streets of Dubai in Race 4 (Lear & Smith – Rexel Group Benchmark 58 Handicap 1506m) at Port Macquarie Racecourse on Sunday 23 September, 2018.

Following a Stewards inquiry on Sunday 28 October, 2018, Mr Lever was suspended for a period commencing Wednesday, 7 November 2018 and to expire on Friday, 7 December 2018 on which day he may ride.

On application of the Appellant, which was not opposed by the Stewards, the penalty imposed by Stewards is stayed until further order of the Panel.

A date for this appeal is yet to be set.
