When it rains it pours. That is certainly the case for form apprentice Rachel King who brought up a Rosehill double on Supply And Demand after bringing up her first Saturday winner earlier in the day on Just Dreaming.
“It’s great! To have a winner for Gai and Adrian is even better as they have given me a lot of support,” said an elated King.
“(Supply And Demand) was very strong today. It was a bit of a question mark at the trip but he definitely saw it out well.
“I was able to give him a little squeeze early to get to the lead and he relaxed really nicely for me and he gave a good kick at the top of the straight. It was never in doubt.”
Supply And Demand was having his seventh run of his campaign so there were no such question marks about hit fitness with co-trainer Adrian Bott suggesting if he was ever going to get the staying trip, it was going to be today.
“He is a consistent horse and has been rewarded for that. He answered a few questions. We were unsure of him stepping up to a trip like this. He looked fit and with the 51kg we were able to adopt the tactics of rolling along in front and pinching a break. Rachel rode him perfectly,” Bott said.
Bott said the stable would now give consideration to testing the four-year-old over further again when he steps out next.
