John Schell's Tips For Wyong (Tuesday)

By John Schell

Selections based on a good track

Race 1 - 1:10PM DOMELAND CG&E MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES)

4. Everybody Rise created a good impression when finishing third on debut at Rosehill in November last year and he was then placed in two of his four starts at his second campaign. He since resumed with a solid effort when second at Canterbury and this assignment looks made to order for him. 7. Paparacha had a number of trials before debuting at Hawkesbury and running a close-up fourth when beaten less than a length. 6. Fly Scotty Fly disappointed on debut at Warwick Farm before showing improvement when finishing second at this track at his second start. He looks to have the ability to run well here. 5. Firework wasn’t disgraced on debut at Muswellbrook, and he’s had two trials to prepare for this return to racing.

How to play it: Everybody Rise WIN.

Race 2 - 1:45PM CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES F&M MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES)

11. Vanlee had a couple of jumpouts in Victoria midway through the year before joining the Joesph Pride stable. She’s since had two barrier trials in preparation for this debut. She’s drawn well in this and bears close watching. 9. Manaajem is making her debut and she has looked good winning two trials from as many attempts this month. She’s drawn awkwardly but looks set to make an impact. 12. Writego is also having her first start, and she’s looked good in her two most recent trials. She’s poised to figure prominently with the advantage of gate one. 3. Blanc De Noir has had two starts and has finished third in each of them against handy enough opposition. She’s drawn wide here but with any luck at all she should be in the thick of things again.

How to play it: Vanlee EACH WAY.

Race 3 - 2:20PM DE BORTOLI WINES CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1625 METRES)

1. Wild Gypsy has had two starts back from a spell and should be ready to peak now over this trip. She’s been close-up when fifth and third in each of them and she was a city winner on the Kensington track back in May. This looks a nice race for her. 5. How Much Better has finished second in each of his latest three starts and should figure in the money again based on those efforts. 4. Elle Hudson was second-up from a spell when a last start fourth at Hawkesbury. He was a winner at this track as favourite back in May. 3. Balmierro was a winner at Scone back in August and then had two trials before resuming with a midfield effort at Kembla Grange. He is better for that run and is not out of this.

How to play it: Wild Gypsy WIN.

Race 4 - 3:00PM GOSFORD RACE CLUB INGLIS MALCOLM CUSICK STAKES (1200 METRES)

6. Slinky raced in a forward position and held on well enough to score a narrow but impressive victory at Warwick Farm when last produced. She had been racing well prior to that and although she’s drawn wide in this, she does have the tactical speed to take up a prominent position and be hard to run down. 7. Not That Easy has hit the line well to finish second in her latest two starts and has claims again after running second to Slinky last time. 1. Roussillon is a former Godolphin galloper that resumed from a spell for a new stable with a solid fifth at Hawkesbury. 5. Up To Mischief ran fourth behind Slinky and Not That Easy at her latest start and has claims.

How to play it: Slinky WIN.

Race 5 - 3:40PM GOSFORD RACE CLUB LISTED GOSFORD GUINEAS (1200 METRES)

2. Midnight Dynamite won three in a row either side of a spell before running a creditable third to Private Harry and then a solid second behind Arriving Home. He’s an on-pace runner drawn ideally and should take running down. 3. Dance To The Boom is unbeaten from two starts and looks to have the talent to give this a shake despite the rise in grade. 5. Shohisha won well on debut and wasn’t disgraced in Group 2 company at her only other start. 4. Froebel Star failed to beat a runner home at Warwick Farm when resuming from a spell but she is a city winner that has place claims in this small field.

How to play it: Midnight Dynamite WIN.

Race 6 - 4:20PM GOSFORD RSL GROUP 3 BELLE OF THE TURF STAKES (1625 METRES)

6. Pier Pressure has hit her straps of late with three wins on end to her name, the latest two in city grade. She’s drawn to get a good run here and can go on with the job. 10. Redbreast resumed with a strong win at Rosehill before a down the track effort behind Pier Pressure. She can bounce back here. 1. Konasana is a talented mare that should be hitting the line well, while 5. Chica Mojito struggles to win but she’s racing well and can run into the placings again.

How to play it: Pier Pressure WIN.

Race 7 - 5:00PM WWW.TAB.COM.AU BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

3. Welcome Gypsy went to the lead and was never threatened when winning at this track at her latest start. She should go forward from a wide gate in this and take plenty of running down again. 4. Ritzsun won two from two at Scone earlier in the year and resumes here on the back of a solid trial. 6. Jamakin Money won at this track in March and is resuming here after a recent trial win. 2. Joiselle impressed when winning her first three starts either side of a spell then failed to fire at Randwick before having another break. She resumes here on the back of a trial and could show up without surprising.

How to play it: Welcome Gypsy WIN.

Best Bets:
Race 5 (2) Midnight Dynamite.
Race 6 (6) Pier Pressure.

Best Value:
Race 2 (11) Vanlee.
