John O'Shea To Rejoin Royal Randwick Training Ranks

John O’Shea will be allocated stables at Royal Randwick following the departure of James Cummings to take up the role as head Australian trainer for Godolphin.

The Australian Turf Club has been fielding interest from a number of quality trainers for spaces since the Godolphin announcement, as well as discussing the future of Leilani Lodge with the Cummings family.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing Services and Membership James Heddo said: “John O’Shea is a proven Group One trainer and we believe he will be a strong addition to the training ranks at Royal Randwick.

“We are also talking with Anthony and Edward Cummings to see if it is practical for them to move into Leilani Lodge or remain in their current stables.’’

It is expected that all movements will be completed and stables fully operational by 1 August.
