Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Kerrin McEvoy (Hungry Heart): “Up to 2000m today she had to tick the box and we were slow to begin so I was worried the whole way that we were too far back given the way the day has unfolded so far."
“Full credit to her I had to wheel out and make my own way into it and that’s exactly what she did. I had a little query on the trip for her, but she did it well today.”
On going to the Oaks: “I’ll leave that to Chris to determine, but she’s a lovely relaxed filly so you could park her away and save for the last part of the race. I’m sure Chris and the team will make the call on that one.”
Hungry Heart running down Harmony Rose
James McDonald (Personal): “Disappointing. She gave ground early in the straight. She should have stuck on a bit better.”
Josh Parr (Harmony Rose): “Terrific effort. Really gutsy.”
Craig Williams (Starelle): “If we didn’t lose our momentum or our positioning from the 600m into the early part of the straight, I’ve no doubt we run third today.”
Tom Marquand (Elizabeel): “She’ll probably come back to the mile. She’s just that little bit aggressive to get the 2000m.”
Hugh Bowman (Miravalle): “Never travelled for one stride the entire race.”
Glen Boss (Force Of Will): “Tried very hard. Just wasn’t good enough.”
Damien Oliver (Impecunious): “Enjoyed a good run. Thought she ran really well.”
Mark Zahra (Love Sensation): “Probably not quite up to this.”
Luke Nolen (Princess Rhaenys): “Lovely run for the Oaks.”
