Find out what the beaten jockeys made of their runs in the Group Two Tea Rose Stakes at Royal Randwick.
Glyn Schofield (Alizee): “Everyone has been waiting for her to show up and run well and she has been able to do that today, she certainly showed her best.” “We had a plan where we wanted to be around midfield with cover and we know that she can reel off a strong sectional we got up the rise and I asked her for an effort and she was electric.”
Hugh Bowman (Tulip): “She was inclined to over-race a little bit in the early to mid stages, which cost her late.”
Tye Angland (Champagne Cuddles): “No excuses today, jumped well and got into a good spot, thought I had it won when I let go the winner was just in behind us and was too strong late.”
Blake Shinn (One More Honey): “Good run, she’s looking for a mile now and is not without a chance in the Flight Stakes.”
Michael Walker (Cellargirl): “Really good run, she’s quite deceiving, she was gone at the top of the straight when she got pushed out on the corner but as soon as I put the stick behind her she took off. Really really good run.”
Jason Collett (Sweet Deal): “Good performance today, was a touch slow to begin and did a bit of work outside the lead. I thought her effort was good.”
Corey Brown (I Am Excited): “No luck again. She was forced to cover ground from the awkward sort of barrier, hard to say whether she got the seven furlongs because she just covered too much ground.”
Josh Parr (Pandemonium): “Rared just as the gates opened and our chances were lost at the start.”
Christian Reith (Acqume): “Ran well, probably just going up in trip she travelled a little bit too well in the run, back in trip she’ll redeem herself.”
Tim Clark (Smooth Landing): “Bit of a non-event really, they trot and cantered and sprinted home. They struggled to make any ground from the back.”
