Tenley proved she is up to winning the Golden Slipper by taking out the G2 Astus Riesling Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick in emphatic style, beating stablemate Exhilarates.
James McDonald (Tenley): “She’s a beauty. She’s got a great constitution, she absorbs pressure, got a great turn of foot and she sustains a really good gallop. She ticks a lot of boxes.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Exhilarates): “She ran well, she’s obviously had the let up since last run, she’ll improve with that and be cherry ripe for Slipper day.”
Blake Shinn (Anaheed): “Super effort on the back up, quality filly who acquitted herself very well.”
Tim Clark (Vincere Volare): “Excellent on-speed performance.”
Tommy Berry (Belitsa): “She’s probably not up to this grade this preparation, but she’s still got a bit of filling out to do, look for her next time in.”
Jay Ford (Bright Rubick): “I thought she ran really well, her best work was her last furlong.”
Glyn Schofield (Classic Gown): “Struggled to keep up.”
Brenton Avdulla (Get Hitched): “Really nice filly, she’s just not seasoned enough to take those horses on yet, but I think she’ll make a really nice filly in the spring.”
Sam Clipperton (Wayupinthesky): “Good effort, just lacks race day experience.”
