Jockey Quotes - Light Fingers Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 TAB Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

Jason Collett (Kimochi): “That gate was a huge help, she was able to sit a pair closer whereas last prep we just seemed to be getting there at the line but just not close enough. Great to come back, she only had a short let-up too so very good.

“That was fantastic against these same fillies she was up against in the spring. To come back and beat them, yeah very good.

“Hopefully the Group 1 (Surround Stakes) in two weeks. That’s not my job I will leave it to Gary (Portelli) to place her, but it does look like a really good option."

Chad Schofield (Learning To Fly): “Terrific return. We had a good run in the race. Felt like we were the winner when we quickened. Obviously after a year off she needed that run. But to get beaten a small margin like that, it was a great sign going forward.”

Zac Lloyd (Kristilli): “Really happy with her great run. Elected to roll with her and not fight her. She is a lovely filly improving with each start.”

Tommy Berry (Mumbai Muse): No Comment

James McDonald (Tiz Invincible): “A really good run. Just got too far back out of her ground but made a nice run into the straight and peaked on the run. Hard to beat in two weeks.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Autumn Ballet): “I was little bit disappointed. I’ve been confident in the filly and how she’s been going. Maybe simply looking for further this preparation.”

Tim Clark (Facile): “She had a nice run. I was disappointed that she wasn’t able to sustain that speed when she quickened at the top of the straight. I thought she should have sustained that for a bit longer.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Arctic Glamour): “Good run back by her. She finished off really well. 1200m had her a little bit off the bridle but I like the way she balanced up and hit the line.”

Sam Clipperton (Kind Words): “I was really happy with her. She is going to get out over an Oaks campaign but she raced very fresh. She will improve with the run.”

Josh Parr (Stefi Magnetica): “Terrific effort. I was forced to be negative when she didn’t begin well and then I was in a position dictated to by horses first up. She didn’t then get a chance to win.”

Dylan Gibbons (I'm A Steel): “Rank outsider but I still thought she would go a bit better.”
