An upset to open The Championships, much to the delight of trainer Gary Moore and connections of Paquirri.
Find out what the jockeys made of their horses’ runs in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick.
Andrew Adkins (Paquirri): “It was a nice win by this fellow, blinkers on really excelled him today and Gary was desperate for me to be in the top four with him.
"He really showed a bit of fight when I asked him to get out and rattle home he done well and that really switched him on.
“He is a really nice horse in the making and is improving every start, he didn’t run that great last start, we got back a little bit and he reared when the gates opened so it was a nice form turnaround for him.”

Mark Zahra (Legend Of Condor): “Ran well, just needs to learn to settle a bit more.”
Blake Shinn (Lean Mean Machine): “He ran great, lovely horse, everything he does he impresses. I’d say now he’s ready for a little bit further than 1100m and he’s got a very bright future ahead of him.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Stunts): “He stayed on nicely to suggest a little bit further is going to suit in time.”
Glyn Schofield (Munich): “He ran well, he did his best work late.”
Brenton Avdulla (Vendome): “He ran nice for a first timer, really nice horse and will probably make a better three-year-old in six months time.”
Cory Parish (Enbihaar): “A little bit disappointing, wanted to get off on the corner and I think it might just be time for a spell and she'll come back a nicer horse.”
Stephen Baster (Ennis Hill): “She ran well, probably time to have a little break and she’ll come back as a nice three-year-old.”
