Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the G2 City Tattersalls Club Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.
Hugh Bowman (Aegon): "He’s got an excellent record and this horse certainly hasn’t disappointed me. I was ultra-impressed with him. He’s got the world at his feet.”
“He didn’t jump particularly well. He was standing well but he just missed it slightly. It didn’t affect my position from a good draw. Mid race he was just in such a good rhythm. It was the sort of rhythm you can see him stepping up to a higher class.”
“He doesn’t spend any energy mid-race. I didn’t have much room to choose from. I had a couple of options. I could just tell when I followed him through the gap he was going to produce. He just loved the competition. I think he won with a bit in hand to be honest.”
“The Randwick Guineas is the obvious next race. He won’t have any issue with that. No need to decide at this point. I think we just enjoy the win and see how he pulls up. I’m not going to interfere with his preparation. I just step on him when he comes to the races.”
Star Kiwi three-year-old Aegon remains undefeated
Jason Collett (King's Legacy): “He kept working home good. From a barrier he would have been a bit closer.”
James McDonald (North Pacific): “A big improvement, he’s going the right way.”
Tim Clark (Peltzer): “He ran well.”
Jean Van Overmeire (Prime Star): “He’s a model of consistency and will only keep improving.”
Brenton Avdulla (Lion's Roar): “I was happy with his run. I thought he ran really well. He has a nice prep in him.”
Nash Rawiller (The Elanora): “I thought he went well. I got onto the winner’s back mid race and didn’t quite have the turn of foot but he still hit the line well.”
Regan Bayliss (Easy Campese): “He needs a drop back in grade.”
Rachel King (High Supremacy): “An okay run in pretty good company and will only take benefit from the run.”
