Another brilliant performance from Verry Elleegant handed Chris Waller his first win in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Find out what all the jockeys made of their mounts' performances.
James McDonald (Verry Elleegant): “She was excellent today. It was a masterstroke to put the ear muffs on. She relaxed hence why she had that great turn of foot and define the bias. She’s done really well.”
“She’s been a massive work in progress. Today was the finished article. Everyone was saying she doesn’t have the right attributes to reach the top. She definitely has. She just has to put it together.
“This is a great stepping stone towards the Oaks. She’s got the constitution, she was hard to pull up and she has the eye of the tiger.”

Jason Collett (Frankely Awesome): “Great run. She found the line well.”
Damian Lane (Aristia): “She ran super. She really struggled in the heavy ground but still ran well just because she is so honest.”
Josh Parr (Nakeeta Jane): “It was hard work for her today. She didn’t travel all that well. It made her really one paced. She’s pulled up really tired.”
Brett Prebble (Seabrook): “She ran super. She had to work early to get into a nice position, she had to work early to take off to get around a 101 shot. Lots of plusses on a big, Heavy 10 track. Maybe ridden a bit quieter she might be a bit stronger.”
Tim Clark (Greysful Glamour): “No excuses today. She was able to get to the front today where she likes to race. She may not have come up this time in.”
Mark Zahra (Qafila): “Too wet.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Pohutukawa): “She didn’t enjoy that ground today.’’
Blake Shinn (Scarlet Dream): “Not a bad effort. It was a dour performance and I think she is looking for 2400m.”
Sam Clipperton (Autumn): “Good run. She’s a nice filly. She probably just needs another six months under her belt.”
Rhys McLeod (Alexandria): “She didn’t handle the track.”
