Godolphin claims another two-year-old feature via Golden Slipper runner-up Microphone.
Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the $1 million Inglis Sires’ (1400m) at Royal Randwick.
Hugh Bowman (Microphone): “I will be surprised if he isn’t the best horse out of the Golden Slipper. I think he will improve on what we saw today.
“The track is racing beautifully but my opinion it is heavy and despite that I think we will see him better on top of the ground. The best will be seen when he gets to 1600m.
“I didn’t want to go around the field. He was travelling in such a smooth rhythm and when Loving Gaby made the move, my opinion was she was the one to beat and I wanted to follow her through. I had my eyes on Kiamichi who I couldn’t run down two weeks ago. The extra distance played into our hands.”

James McDonald (Loving Gaby): “Beautiful filly, unlucky not to win. She’s got tremendous ability, if it was good ground today she would have given the winner and even bigger scare. Just lost her footing from about the 600m-400m and that’s where she lost the race.”
Josh Parr (Castelvecchio): “Terrific effort, I chimed in like I was going to win, but a couple of those horses who have been up and racing just had the fitness edge on him.”
Damian Lane (Kiamichi): “Brave effort.’’
Corey Brown (Strasbourg): “He wasn’t disappointing, but he just raced really flat.”
Tim Clark (Bellevue Hill).: “That run last week probably took the speed out of his legs, but he’s certainly a horse for the future.”
Brett Prebble (Dresden Green): “First horse beaten.”
Tommy Berry (Spring Loaded): “Disappointing.”
Brenton Avdulla (Bullet Fly): “He just didn’t go in the ground at all.”
Opie Bosson (Probabeel): “Got into a nice position behind the first couple, but just never travelled, she did well to run home though.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Tenley): “Struggled in the ground.”
