Find out what the beaten jockeys made of their runs in the Group One Golden Slipper at Rosehill.
Ben Melham (She Will Reign): “What an absolute thrill, the whole way through she has been a little darling this horse and she hasn’t put a foot wrong. She is not overly big but i tell you what she certainly makes up for it with all heart.”
Blake Shinn (Pariah): “He just didn’t handle that track today.”
Brenton Avdulla (Veranillo): “He was just a bit green with the blinkers on for the first time. I thought he was going to run last at the corner so he’s done a good job to finish eighth.”
Tim Clark (Trapeze Artist): “I thought he ran pretty solid. He wasn’t entirely comfortable on the heavy track but I thought he ran well.”
Tye Angland (Single Bullet): “Just too wet. We had a reasonable run, it was a little bit tight at the half mile, but at the end of the day he just didn’t get through it.”
Glyn Schofield (Diamond Tathagata): “He ran a very credible race. If it was slightly drier it probably would have helped him a little.”
William Buick (Trekking): “He didn’t turn very well and the ground was too soft for him.”
Corey Brown (Menari): “Super run considering from the word go he never handled it. He dipped and dived but had the audacity to get up and run third. Very good.”
Craig Williams (Catchy): “She unfortunately couldn’t handle the ground. It was so heavy for her. After 400m I was not in contention and I just had to look after her from there.”
Ryan Moore (Formality): “She struggled on that ground today.”
Tommy Berry (Frolic): “The winner took my spot. He put me up the rail to get there. She was gallant in defeat and she looks like the perfect horse for the Sires and Champagne.”
Dwayne Dunn (Teaspoon): “She began well, put herself in a good spot, but she was gone along way from home. Didn’t handle that track.”
J Lloyd (Houtzen): “She travelled well in front until she hit the course proper and her legs just went everywhere. The winner came past me very quickly, take nothing away from her, she put this filly to rest very quickly. She fought to the line but she never handled the conditions at all.”
Regan Bayliss (Madeenaty): “She struggled in the testing conditions.”
Josh Parr (Chauffeur): “He travelled to the corner like he was going to be in the finish but when I let him down the ground gave way underneath him and he didn’t like it.”
