Find out what the beaten jockeys made of their runs in the Group One Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens.
Tye Angland (Trapeze Artist): “It’s the first time I have ridden him. I got onto Menari’s back from an awkward gate due to nice speed in the race. I actually had to pull off his back because I was going too good.”
Corey Brown (The Mission): “It is a mission, he’s not where he needs to be, he stopped before we got into the home straight, he was very disappointing.”
Josh Parr (Menari): “The seven furlongs was just a little bit hard for him.”
Blake Shinn (Pariah): “Somewhat disappointing today, got into a nice spot, travelled well but from the 500m when I started to feel for him he wasn’t there today.”
Tommy Berry (Gold Standard): “He went super, he just feels like he’s looking for the Caulfield Guineas trip now, he ran really well today. He’s going in the right direction.”
Brenton Avdulla (Chauffeur): “Was on the back-foot before the corner but plugged home alright.”
Mark Zahra (Merchant Navy): “Copped a bit of interference early, whether that’s told enough for his disappointing run I’m not sure, we’ll just see how he pulls up.”
Tim Clark (Dracarys): “Got found out at the 700m when they really cranked it up.”
Hugh Bowman (Assimilate): “I was very pleased with his effort, no luck from the awkward draw which told, but the horse went very well.”
Christian Reith (Shogun Sun): “He just raced a bit flat today, they’ll probably take him home now and give him a break, he’ll come back bigger and stronger.”
Adam Hyeronimus (Perast): “I thought he raced well, but the opposition just had a better turn of foot late.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Formality): “After beginning nicely I decided to offset the barrier, we got across, but then the pace was too strong and she found it hard first try at 1400m given that early tempo.”
Jason Collett (Champagne Cuddles): “Great run found the line really well, just gave away too big a start.”
