Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the $500,000 Four Pillars Midway (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens.
Zac Lloyd (Kingston Charm): “She was fantastic. It was a good win by her. I came into today with a lot of confidence. The win and the feeling she gave me at Hawkesbury, I was very confident with the mare that I was on. I said to them pre-race, ‘they might be over-exaggerating this coming off the fence, and I think our best option will be just to keep it smooth and up the inside’. It’s good when a plan comes off.
“She just tries very hard. I think today was a perfect race for her, well set-up by John and his team. She just tries very hard and is very honest. The two sits I have had on her, they’ve been pretty close finishes and she’s just tenacious and wants to win. So you never know where they go.
“Obviously with 20 horses in the race, John just gave me one instruction. He said ‘don’t get her out of her comfort zone’. That ultimately put me a pair or two further back than I would have liked and there were a lot of horses in front of me. But I just went underneath them and she was really brave and good through the line as well.”

Joao Moreira (Piraeus): “He tried bloody hard. The way he races didn’t suit him because he had to come around them all. In the end of the day I’ve very pleased how he ran.”
Tommy Berry (Rolling Magic): “He has come a long way in a short time. Great effort from an outside gate.”
Benjamin Osmond (Victory Lane): “Too far back and never travelled.”
Rory Hutchings (Apollo Mission): “No luck from the gate.”
Nash Rawiller (Harlow Mist): “Just needed every bit of that trip. Her last 50m was her best.”
Jason Collett (Patrika Mist): “Honest but got tired late though.”
Chad Schofield (Khumbila): “He didn’t finish it off today.”
Reece Jones (Life Coach): “Didn’t run the 15[00]m.”
Kerrin McEvoy (This Is The Moment): “He will be suited by a bit further eventually.”
Deanne Panya (Danish Prince): “He ran a nice race. Fought on well. Just runs like he wants further now.”
Tom Sherry (Tympanist): “Did well considering it was a three day back up. He finished off well.”
Dylan Gibbons (Fugitiva): “Courageous effort. Probably just didn’t need that rain and might have come to the end of it.”
Blake Spriggs (Artful Persuasion): “Just hated the wet track. Nice horse who will come back in well.”
Tyler Schiller (Extreme Freedom): “He was OK. I thought his last 100m was his best bit. Probably looking for 18/2000m now.”
Zac Wadick (Alabama State): “Look he has done really well. You can’t hide it he was four wide throughout the trip. He is only a 3yo who I think will only keep progressing throughout his career. He hasn’t won today but I feel like there are plenty of races in store for him in the future.”
Regan Bayliss (Arale): “Disappointing.”
Molly Bourke (Treize): “Very honest run from a wide gate. Did her best.”
Winona Costin (Winning Point): “Really nice run. She is probably looking for the 2000m sooner rather than later.”
Jay Ford (Miss Checkoni): “She had a tough run from a wide gate.”
