Jockey Quotes - Coolmore Classic

Dixie Blossoms prevailed in the G1 Coolmore Classic (1500m), delivering one of trainer Ron Quinton's proudest moments in racing.

Here's what the beaten jockeys had to say.

Christian Reith (Dixie Blossoms): "She just gave me a great feel today. I was never going to get beaten I just had to pick the right holes and things unfolded for me and we were able to get there. She surprises every time she goes around. She’s got age in her legs but she runs like a three-year-old."

Dixie Blossom had her moment to shine

Opie Bosson (Savvy Coup): “Wasn’t the worst of runs, it was quite tight the whole race, she’s probably just looking for a little bit further now.”

Sam Clipperton (Eckstein): “I was very happy the first three-quarters of the race, had a lovely run, but I think the track is a little bit too soft for her.”

Michael Walker (Oregon's Day): “Ran super, just the conditions weren’t to her liking.”

Tim Clark (Alassio): “Didn’t handle the heavy.”

Damian Lane (Noire): “She ran super, just didn’t get a good enough track into the race so I had to make an early move on her and in turn she peaked at the 100m.”

Kathy O'Hara (White Moss): “She ran a good race, she didn’t have a lot of luck in the straight. She’s feeling really good this time around, I’m sure she’ll bounce back.”

Jay Ford (Aloisia): “Really good, got a long way back from the wide barrier, but she closed off well.”

James McDonald (I Am Serious): “Just a bit of an off day I think, she just never got to the corner and never picked up.”

Jason Collett (Invincible Gem): “The barrier told.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Princess Posh): “Great effort, just had to offset the barrier, she made up nice ground once clear. She loved that soft ground.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Savatiano): “No luck from the gate, I wanted to follow Jamaicain Rain, but I had to give her a squeeze to get across, she was a bit strong throughout.”

Brenton Avdulla (El Dorado Dreaming): “She went awesome, she loved the cut out of the ground, just bumped into a good mare.”

Glyn Schofield (Fiesta): “Enjoyed a nice enough run, peeled out for her to improve and just got sandwiched at the 250m.”

Glen Boss (Jamaican Rain): “Very disappointing, she was the first one to come off the bridle and never kicked in those conditions like she normally does.”

Jye McNeil (Bella Martini): “Tried hard, just didn’t handle the conditions.”

Robbie Dolan (Manicure): “She ran okay, just not a lot of luck from the barrier.”

Tommy Berry (Moss Trip): “She just pulled herself into the ground. I copped a bump about 100m after the start and it just fired her up, I couldn’t get her back.”

Andrew Adkins (Mandylion): “She was okay, a little bit out of her grade, she stuck on well till the 300m, it was a little tough for her late.”

Corey Brown (Mizzy): “She ran well, scrambled a little bit in the going the last 100m.”
